One of corporate objectives for 2019 is to offset our carbon footprint and we are delighted to have made a donation to the work of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust to further their work in planting trees in an area which we know and love. It's good to feel that we are balancing out the negative impact of our business activities and putting something back into the environment!
Our Welfare Policy
There's an awful lot in the media at the moment about mental health, and here at Elliem we recognise that the working environment can be stressful at times, and that sometimes the stress levels which are induced become too much to cope with. We pride ourselves on keeping our own team 'in good mental health' and provide access to a range of services for our team including gym membership and access to counselling services. With one trained and very experienced workplace counsellor within the team and another member of the team working on NLP we will, during 2019, ensure that all our team are offered the chance to train as Mental Health First Aiders, so that they can provide support within the business but also to our many clients. We work to live, not live to work and we understand that!
Our Charitable Donations Policy
As a business we believe it's important to 'give back'. We do so through a number of targeted donations to charities which we feel are appropriate to us, and to the current economic climate here and further afield. We are regular supporters of Crisis at Christmas and The Salvation Army, and in 2018 added Centrepoint to our list of supported causes. Further afield we 'Lend with Care' investing money as loans to businesses which we feel will change lives, and re-investing as those loans are repaid. Team member Ellie Clark is responsible for managing our donations process and takes charge of our Lend with Care programme and hearing her decisions, and the reasons behind them makes us realise just how much 'the next generation' has to give!
