I am working with a business this week who are looking at how they will move forwards to compliance with the requirements of ISO9001:2015. Forward thinking, they are involving some of their audit team in the development work and our 3 day workshop has given these auditors the chance to consider the standard, the changes it brings and to consider how they can bring aspects of the standard into their audits now - even though the business is setting itself an 18 month timescale for full compliance. It's been an interesting project to run and we've all learnt a lot about the practical application of the 'words' as we've worked through some of the key clauses. This afternoon we will be looking at the requirements for organisational knowledge included in clause 7.1.6 and how the business can ensure it complies. We've already identified that organisational knowledge is key to the business's ability to deliver within it's organisational context and that this key aspect is clearly left out of the current policy and objectives so it will be an interesting afternoon!
