We spent the New Year in the Lake District, enjoying time with friends and family and staying at a favourite campsite. Each year the pub nearby holds a quiz, raising money for Patterdale Mountain Rescue and once again we were delighted to support this by donating one of our landscape prints of the area for the prize. We've done this for a number of years now and choosing the picture becomes part of the 'getting ready for Christmas' routine. This year our arrival at the campsite was delayed due to a pretty horrid crash on the road to Hartsop and it brought home to me just how busy the Mountain Rescue teams are - they were on their way back from another 'shout' when they came across the accident, and immediately pitched in to help the Ambulance and Police services manage the traffic, the injured etc. You do a great job guys and we here at Elliem are just pleased to be able to help raise a bit of money to help you keep the service running. Oh and the quiz? Once again a true killer! Ok so I should have known that Eric Clapton was in Derek and the Dominoes . . . . .
