One of the clauses which we expect to see introduced in the 2015 version of ISO9001 is a requirement to understand the 'context of the organisation'. My guess is that this will initially cause a lot of head scratching but if you break down the requirement and re-phrase it to say 'who is interested in your business, what market do you work in, what do your customers expect and need from you' and the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle will start to come together. Consider Wagamama and MacDonalds and ask yourself what their context of each organisation is? Each has it's own space in the market and the context is quite different! Have fun thinking about the context of your organisation . . . .
