When the 2000 version of the standard was issued it resulted in massive changes to management systems and to our approach to them, and this year will see a change of similar magnitude. The issue of Annex SL provided a single structure to be applied across all management system standards and we will soon forget that clause 6 is Resources, and that Measurement, Analysis and Improvement are clause 8 issues and have to get used to thinking about 'Clause 4, Context of the Organisation' etc. I will no longer be the ultimate saddo able to quote clauses by number and will be grappling to get used to the new structure and numbering system with some clients, whilst retaining my guru like knowledge of the old standard numbering for clients who are taking their time to migrate to the new version.
So exciting times ahead, and much to do! A busy year beckons.
